Kashfy is a vocal singing group that hails from Malaysia whose name is derived from an Arabic word which carries the meaning ‘to reveal/discover’. The group was founded by several ordinary lads with extraordinary determination on the basis of keen exploration and experimentation of musical art. They sincerely feel that music is absolutely one of the many effective means to convey the message of Islam.
It is always a top priority for Kashfy to ensure clarity as well as simplicity in their effort to convey true messages to the public. Although frequently being identified as a nasheed group, these men have always been comfortable to be known as simple musicians who love performing live before the public.
Kashfy is very much influenced by the styles of music of several huge names in the world of Islamic music such as Sami Yusuf, Zain Bikha, Dawud Wharnsby Ali, Yusuf Islam and Hamza Robertson. These big names surely have got extremely unique elements in their music which are seldom assimilated in Malaysian mainstream of nasheed that, if cleverly developed, could attract more listeners towards the beauty of Islam and its messages.
Apart from being a simple group of singers, members of Kashfy are also professionals in-the-making (insyaAllah) in a variety of fields which include medicine, modern engineering and architecture whilst most of them are memorizers of Quran (Hufaz). This in fact may become one of the positive factors to enable Kashfy to probably be a good role model amongst youths and at the same time, conveying good messages with their own style.
